Former Liverpool player Jamie Carragher has made a big claim in regards to Manchester United and Chelsea’s chances of winning a Premier League title with their current managers.

Both, Manchester United and Chelsea parted ways with Ruben Amorim and Enzo Maresca in the last couple of weeks. While, Chelsea have appointed Liam Rosenior as their permanent manager, Manchester United have appointed Michael Carrick as their Interim Manager till end the end of the season.

Both managers got off to winning starts in their first Premier League match at home over the weekend. While Manchester United claimed a stunning 2-0 victory at home against Manchester City, Chelsea saw off Brentford 2-0 in a tidy display at home.

However, Jamie Carragher has doubts with regards to Carrick and Rosenior if they will able to handle the enormity of the expectations at the two clubs.

“I don’t believe Manchester United go and win the league with Michael Carrick as the manager or Chelsea go and win the league with Rosenior as a manager. I’m not trying to be disrespectful. I’m only giving my honest opinion of what I feel and their sort of background, experiences, managers, what they’ve done in the past. You’ve got to be special.”

Manchester United are expected to hire an experienced full-time coach in the summer, and probably wait until the conclusion of the FIFA World Cup, as many managers would be available then. Both, Manchester United and Chelsea are involved in a close top-four battle, and are separated by a mere point. Chelsea also several other competitions to look forward to, as they qualified for the next round of the FA Cup. The will travel to the Emirates for the reverse leg of the Carabao Cup semifinals, where they lost 3-2 at home in the first leg. Chelsea will also return to UCL action over the midweek, where they face Pafos at home.
