Carlos Alcaraz’s dominance at 2025 US Open highlighted by one important stat ahead of clash against Novak Djokovic
Carlos Alcaraz has dominated his way into the semifinals of the 2025 US Open. The Spaniard has reached the last four of the US Open without even dropping a set. More importantly, the five-time Grand Slam champion has been broken just once in the entire tournament, in the third round against Luciano Darderi.
The Spaniard has setup an all important clash against Novak Djokovic in the semifinals of the US Open. Alcaraz has been defeated in the quarterfinals of the 2025 Australian Open by the Serbian, as the Spaniard now looks to exact revenge.
In an interesting stat, Carlos Alcaraz has dropped just one service game in the whole tournament so far. This is despite playing the likes of Reilly Opelka in the first round, Jiri Lehecka in the quarterfinals. In fact, he has offered no break point opportunities in two of the five matches.
Carlos Alcaraz’s service game serving as a lethal weapon

Out of the few things lacking in Carlos Alcaraz’s game was a lethal serve which the likes of Jannik Sinner possess. He has often been exploited by his opponents on his serve, however, his strong return game has always helped him gain an advantage.
However, with his service game now being stronger than ever at the 2025 US Open, this does ring alarm bells for Novak Djokovic, and potentially Jannik Sinner, who could face him in the US Open finals. Jannik Sinner has also lost just three service games in the 2025 US Open, all coming against Denis Shapovalov.
Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz have faced against each other eight times in the past, with Alcaraz trailing 5-3. The Serbian has won each of the last two meetings, including the gold medal match at the Paris Olympics. Alcaraz’s only win against the Serb in the last three years have come on grass courts. Carlos Alcaraz defeated Novak Djokovic in the finals of Wimbledon in two consecutive years in 2021 and 2022.
