‘I’m in a great place personally and tennis-wise’ – Jack Draper looks forward to the 2025 US Open

Jack Draper has been one of the most promising names on the tour this season. The Briton claimed his first ever Masters title at the Indian Wells earlier this year, as he broke into the top 10 rankings in the world. However, his season hit a roadblock after disappointing performances at the French Open and at Wimbledon.
Jack Draper is currently out on the sidelines as he recovers from an arm injury. The Briton has missed the Canadian Open, and the ongoing Cincinnati Masters. However, he is excited to return at the 2025 US Open. The 23-year-old stated that he feels that he is in a great place physically and mentally.
Jack Draper has had an action packed first half of the season, where he also reached the finals of the Qatar Open. The Briton had an incredible run at the Indian Wells, where he defeated Carlos Alcaraz en-route to the final.
“I found out I had an injury in my arm, which I had been playing with for a little while,” admitted Draper in an interview with the LTA. “The doctors and my team advised me that I’d need to take some time out. I had a few days off, so I chilled and took my mind off tennis. Then I was really motivated to come back and do a really good fitness block and work myself hard physically to make some good gains.”
‘It was disappointing to miss Toronto and Cincinnati’ : Jack Draper
Jack Draper expressed his disappointment over missing the two Masters events in lead up to the 2025 US Open. However, he believes that it was a good time for him to reflect on things, and return fresh for the final Major of the year.
“I got back to my tennis slowly to protect my arm, but it’s been a really productive few weeks now. It was disappointing to miss Toronto and Cincinnati, but I think it’s been a good period for me to reflect on things and improve. “I’m really looking forward to going out to the US Open, and I’m in a great place personally and tennis-wise. I feel refreshed, motivated, and I can’t wait to get back out there,” he added.
Jack Draper had one of his best Grand Slam runs at the US Open last year, where he reached the semifinals. In the semifinals, he eventually lost to Jannik Sinner, who outplayed him in straight sets. The Briton has shown his prowess and ability on hard courts over the last couple of years. Despite missing the two major tournaments in lead up to the US Open, Jack Draper remains among the top contenders to challenge the likes of Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner.
